You can soon sign into Amazon using FaceID — just in time for Black Friday

Amazon is finally letting you use Apple passkeys alongside TouchID and FaceID to sign into your account, just before the Black Friday sales begin on November 23.

According to a news post from Amazon, the shopping site is slowly rolling out these features over the next few weeks on its iOS app, saving you the hassle of typing in your password.

While you could previously autofill your password from iCloud Keychain, which stores all of your passwords behind FaceID or TouchID, there's been no other way of signing in to your Amazon account other than manually typing it all out.

How to turn off AR reactions in FaceTime and other video apps

iOS 17 has brought the ability to trigger cool augmented reality (AR) effects with hand gestures during video calls on FaceTime and in compatible videos apps such as Skype. For example, you can raise one thumb to trigger the Like animation.

Conversely, a thumb-down will play the Dislike reaction. And with two thumbs up, the Fireworks effect will play directly into your camera feed.

The 9th Gen iPad is still at its lowest ever price after Prime Day

The Wi-Fi, 64GB model of the ninth-generation Apple iPad is currently available from Amazon for just $249, which is the tablet’s lowest-ever price at Amazon and the same price it was during October Prime Day. We’re not sure why the $80 in savings on the device’s sticker price of $329 is still online, but if you’ve been looking for iPad deals, this is an offer that you won’t want to miss. Its price may return to normal in the blink of an eye, so don’t waste any more time — push through with the transaction to secure the discount.

Reduce Head & Eye Aches with Screen Distance Alerts (iOS 17)

It can be easy to get distracted and unknowingly damage your eyes by holding your iPhone or iPad's screen too close to your face. iOS 17 introduces automatic alerts that remind you to hold your device at a safer distance, which reduces eye strain and can prevent headaches, bad posture, etc. Enabling these alerts can even help you build better habits over time.

How to activate an eSIM on iPhone

Your days with the physical SIM card are numbered. Apple launched the iPhone 14 models in the US as eSIM-only, leaving out physical SIM cards altogether, so you can expect new models from now on to follow suit.

While eSIM is not a new concept, Apple is swimming against the tide by not including a SIM tray on the new iPhones.

“iPadOS powers our most versatile device and enables users to do so many things on iPad, and now with iPadOS 17, we deliver an experience that’s even more personal and capable,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.

How to send animated reactions on FaceTime with iOS 17

Apple's latest iOS 17 update has introduced FaceTime Reactions, which are animated effects that pop up on your screen during a video chat. These reactions are like the ones commonly used in Messages with other iPhone users, such as hearts, fireworks and thumbs-ups. These can sometimes serve as expressive substitutes for written responses or, in the case of FaceTime, punctuate your body language with 3D animations.
