The iPhone 17 Pro Could Get Some Cool Camera Upgrades

The camera array on this year’s iPhone 17 Pro models could get more than just a redesign and some improved sensors, if a new anonymous report is to be believed.

Annual camera improvements have become par for the course on each year’s new iPhones — and this is particularly true on the Pro models — so the rumors that have been circulating for nearly a year about a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor aren’t a big surprise. However, that’s about the only big camera news we’ve heard for this year’s iPhone 17 Pro models — until now, that is.

Over the weekend, an “anonymous tipster” contacted MacRumors with what they claim are several significant camera-related changes coming to this year’s models, including an expanded optical zoom, a new “pro camera app,” and even a second Camera Control button.

My 64GB iPhone was so low on space it barely worked. Here’s how I saved it

With the launch of the iPhone 16e and 11th-gen iPad, Apple has officially phased out all devices with 64GB of storage in favor of 128GB as the entry-level option. That’s great for new buyers, but there are a lot of people who still have 64GB iPhones and iPads that are too new to replace. I know from experience: I own an iPhone 12 mini and a 6th-gen iPad mini, both otherwise great devices, and it’s become a headache to manage the latest versions of iOS with such a small amount of space.

FAQ: Is AppleCare One Worth It?

This week, Apple launched AppleCare One, a new bundled offering that lets you cover multiple Apple products with what is essentially AppleCare+ for a single fee.

It’s not a bad deal, and it could also help alleviate “subscription fatigue” by combining everything into a single monthly payment. However, like most Apple services, it’s not necessarily an automatic win for everyone. Whether AppleCare One makes sense for you will depend on which Apple devices you own and whether you need AppleCare coverage for all of them.

HOW TO USE YOUR IPHONE TO CHARGE YOUR APPLE WATCH

Your AirPods could get a useful feature upgrade soon

When Apple held its Worldwide Developer Conference in June, it announced a number of new features across its iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch devices.

Alongside a more translucent design that spans the entire portfolio of Apple products, there were features like the ability to change the snooze duration in the Clock app, as well as the option of using an iPad more like a Mac.

How to Stop Other People Ruining Your Apple Music Recommendations

Apple Music uses your listening history to provide tailored recommendations for new music or to create bespoke playlists. If other people play music using your account, whether they're using your Apple devices or playing music through smart speakers, these recommendations can become tainted with music you have no interest in. There are several ways to prevent this from happening.

Make Your Phone Last Years Longer With These Easy Tips

The superb iPhone 16 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, are among the best phones you can buy in 2025. At least until the iPhone 17 comes along. These top-end phones have a lot in common, from their excellent cameras and high performance, but also their whopping price tags. Even wallet-friendly phones like the Google Pixel 9A still cost a sizeable chunk of money. With purse strings continuing to tighten the world over, it's never been more important to squeeze the most value from whichever phone you buy, and the best way to do that is simply to keep using it for longer, spreading that costly purchase out over the years, rather than upgrading more often.

Turn Off This One iPhone Setting Before You Upgrade or Get Rid of Your Phone

Apple's Find My app has helped me locate my luggage in a busy airport, find a single missing AirPod, and it ensure I know where all my devices are. But before I trade-in or get rid of an iPhone, I always turn Find My off. And Apple suggests you turn this feature off before you give it away or get your iPhone serviced at an Apple Store or authorized service provider.
